Avi Mehta is a lifelong learner passionate about building relationships and community through music education. He currently works primarily with young musicians where he seeks to inspire creativity, communication, and collaboration hopefully leading to a long-term fulfillment of both personal and collective goals. 

As a resident of Boston, Avi works at the Longy School of Music where he serves as the assistant director of community programs and conducts the Repertory Youth Orchestra. He also conducts the Josiah Quincy Elementary String Orchestra and serves as the assistant conductor for the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble at the New England Conservatory. He has appeared as a guest conductor for the MICS Festival, Nashua Summer Chamber Orchestra, Troy High School Symphonic Band, Austin Soundwaves, B-Sharp Youth Music Program, and Bellefonte High School Wind Ensemble.
        
Avi is a recent graduate of the Sistema Fellows Program at the New England Conservatory. He also holds a M.M. in Wind Conducting, a certification in Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University, and a B.M. in Tuba Performance from The University of Wisconsin-Madison
